quality improvement
quality improvement: introduction
This key theme of self-assessment to improve performance is of interest to those who are new to the technique and those with substantial experience who want to check out their own quality arrangements and keep up to date with developments. There are four sections, as noted below. quality frameworksThis takes a general view of issues across the FE system, focusing on the use of effective self-assessment to improve the quality of learning and skills provision nationally. college self-assessmentThis concerns how, when and why colleges assess the quality and effectiveness of all their services – and the implications for governing boards. board self-assessmentThe factors considered here are: how, when and why governing boards assess the quality and effectiveness of their performance as individuals and as boards; and the contribution they make to the overall college performance. putting quality improvement into practiceSample case studies and good practice in governance self-assessment are provided in this section. It looks inwards at what works for colleges in terms of self-assessment frameworks and practical self-assessment tools. It also looks outwards across the public sector and beyond – at possible lessons to be learned from other sectors. |
